How does BodyTalk Work?
During a BodyTalk session, the practitioner facilitates communication with the innate wisdom of the body by using neuromuscular biofeedback. After asking Innate a series of yes/no questions, the Client’'s own body'’s wisdom leads the practitioner to locate the imbalances within the body that are a priority, or are not communicating correctly and are out of balance with the rest of the body . Next, the practitioner holds the areas that have been highlighted by the testing procedure and taps gently on the head and the sternum. By tapping on the head, the brain becomes aware of and repairs the communication link. Tapping on the sternum (or heart) ensures that the new information is stored throughout the whole body. This process guarantees the mechanisms of the body can function and operate at optimal levels, which in turn accelerates the healing process, thus preventing future imbalances within those highlighted areas. The BodyTalk practitioner is teaching the body to return itself to balance.

Where did BodyTalk originate?

The Bodytalk System was created by Dr. John Veltheim, an Australian chiropractor, acupuncturist, philosopher, and author. John was the principal of the Brisbane College of Acupuncture and Natural Therapies for several years. His extensive post graduate studies include: Applied Kinesiology, bio-energetic therapy, osteopathy, sports medicine, counseling and comparative philosophy, and theology. John’s books on The BodyTalk System have been translated into many languages, and the system is being taught in over 30 countries.

How many BodyTalk sessions will I need?
Some clients notice changes after one session, and follow it up with a couple of subsequent appointments. Most conditions improve significantly after 3 or 4 sessions -– again this varies from client to client. Having discovered a way to effortlessly release unwanted baggage, stored emotions and negative patterns from the past, many clients continue with regular monthly/quarterly sessions as a body/mind/soul tune up to prevent the build up of stress and disease.Your body remembers the changes from previous BodyTalk sessions and your healing process continues with each subsequent session. Your body picks up where we left off – - the effects are cumulative, regenerative and restorative.

How long do sessions last?
A BodyTalk session usually lasts between 15 and 45 minutes. The length of a session is not indicative of the quality of the session or the results that occur, as even the simplest sessions can be quite profound. The bodymind knows just how many changes and corrections it is ready to initiate in any given session, and will therefore indicate when the session is complete and may even establish a time when you may need to return for a follow-up session.
